Great Efforts at USM Chess Tourney

13 kids from our chess club competed in the USM chess tourney today. All 5 kids (Grant Walsh, Spencer Graskamp, Jack Strifling, Chloe Chen, and Paul Shister) in the K3 section won an individual trophy and the Wilson team of Chloe and Paul took the 2nd place team trophy. In the K6 section, the Wilson team (Alex Chen, Rakshith Mereddy, Aditya Kosaraju, and Siddharth Kosaraju) squeaked out 1st place among some very good teams. In fact, they pulled it out in the very last round by winning 3.5 pts out of 4. Alex Chen also won individual 4th place in the same section. Other kids that also participated in this event include Cooper Walsh, Matthew Malland, Zain Beg, and Will Harwood.
