Looking Back at the 2016-17 Tourney Season

Unlike previous years, the club did not get a chance to post about the tournaments our kids participated in during the 2016-17 season. However, that did not meant we have less kids participating or going to fewer events. In fact, some of our more dedicated kids played in many tournaments, often on a weekly basis. And some of the larger tournaments continued to see a large turnout from our club. These included the 9th Annual Holy Trinity Oconomowoc USCF Open, the USM Fall Annual, the Sheboygan Gradelevel, the Evangel Assembly of God tourney, and last but not least, the 12th Annual Wisconsin Gradelevel Championship.

At these tournaments, our kids won so many individual and team trophies that it would be difficult for us to list them all here. We are very proud of their achievements, but above all, we are proud that they demonstrated great sportsmanship, played fair, had a great attitude, and never gave up and competed till the very end.

The kids who returned from the previous year has progressed extremely well. The new kids who just joined have also done very well, and a few of them are also now playing regularly in chess tournaments. We look forward to all of them coming back in the 2017-18 season!

P.S. Thanks to all the chess parents who contributed the awesome pictures you are seeing below!
